evaluation, question 2.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

My music magazine is representing 16-24 year old people, they will be mostly girls, with a 70% to 30% statistics of female to males. Here is a photo of the girl i used and I'm going to compare it to another magazine like mine, which aims for the same demographics, social groups, age and sex.

Here are two photo's one of the photo i used for my front page, with Rhianna. and the other photo is one i used for my contents with Rhianna.

Obviously i could die my models hair red, but if you look at both images, the poses are very similar. Rihanna's photos are from a Marie Claire photo shoot for a magazine. Here is what wikiapedia had to say about the magazine, "Marie Claire is a monthly women's magazine first published in France but also distributed in other countries with editions specific to them and in their languages. While each country shares its own special voice with its audience, the United States edition focuses on women around the world and several worldwide issues. The magazine also covers health, beauty, and fashion topics." These follow what i wanted my magazine to represent, and shows what readers of Marie Claire would be like and what readers of Buffoons would be like, and what they would be interested in. If Marie Claire's magazine is aiming for mainly females and most likely from what you can see younger women, then replicating the poses of their photo's is the first step in relating to Marie Claire's social groups.

In these photo's photos, you can see what they are wearing, which is quite in your face, fashionable/ trendy.

Here are the items of clothing i used, they represent young people, as they are items of clothing that stand out, which young people are forever trying to do.

My magazine as i said in another post, is going to be an English magazine covering world wide events. this means that i am not excluding any race, and as you saw in my double pictures with my model and Rihanna, you can see that she is black and is famous. I wanted my magazine to replicate Rihanna, making my magazine open for every one, including all types of young social groups.

My magazine doesn't emphasise the buying of clothes, but it does show them a lot, as that's what attracts people's attention, so while it does not advertise items of clothing, it emphasises the likability.
